About the event
Wiener Neustadt airfield is the cradle of Austrian aviation, where designers and pilots tested the latest flying machines. From 1909 to 1912 they attracted public interest in spectacular competitions in which one record replaced the next . The public and representatives of the press traveled to Wiener Neustadt in droves not only to marvel at aircraft powered for the first time, but also to take a look at emperors, archdukes and the daredevils to catch pilots. The need for photographs showing both the flights and the distinguished visitors was huge, and a picture cult quickly developed, which was used in trade journals, gossip newspapers, in the cinema, but above all in the _cc781905- 5cde-3194-bb3b-136bad5cf58d_private area found expression with the illustrated postcard. The book presentation is based on the research of the author Marcus Zelezny on the early days of the Wiener Neustadt Flugfeld
